Privacy Policy
Your tank, your data — nothing more.
Halocline was built with a simple principle: we collect the absolute minimum needed to make the app work, and nothing more. We don't track you, we don't profile you, and we don't sell anything about you — ever.
What we don't do
- No tracking or analytics. There are no analytics SDKs, no event trackers, no fingerprinting, and no hidden pixels in the app.
- No advertising. Halocline contains no ads and no ad networks. Your data is never shared with any advertising partner.
- No selling or sharing of your data. We never sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for any purpose.
- No third-party data brokers. We don't transmit your details to any broker or data reseller.
- No location tracking. Halocline does not request, store, or use your GPS or location.
- No background monitoring. The app only runs when you're using it. It does not collect information while closed.
What data the app holds
The only information tied to your account is what you choose to enter yourself — your email address (used only to sign you in) and the aquarium records you log (parameters, dosing, equipment, livestock, notes). Your aquarium data is associated with your account and is private to you. One user cannot see another user's tanks or readings.
AI analysis
When you request a system, livestock, or compatibility analysis, the relevant data you've entered (tank volume, parameters, inhabitants, etc.) is sent to an AI model to generate your result. This information is processed only to produce your analysis and is not retained or reused by us for any other purpose.
You're in control
Your data is yours. You can edit or delete any record, doser, or tank at any time, and you can export your information from Settings. Deleting a record removes it from your account. If you close your account, your associated data is removed along with it.
Security
Accounts are protected by authenticated access — only you can sign in and reach your data. We rely on the platform's managed authentication and storage, which keep your records private and transport them over encrypted connections.
Children's privacy
Halocline is intended for hobbyists. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the app does not gather personal data beyond what you explicitly enter for managing your aquarium.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, we'll update this page. We'll never quietly weaken your privacy — the commitment to no tracking, no ads, and no data selling is core to how Halocline is built.

Always consult a qualified professional for animal health, disease, treatment, or stocking decisions. You are responsible for the welfare of your livestock.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate
System analysis, issue diagnostics, livestock research, and dose recommendations are generated by AI models from your logged data and public sources. AI can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Always verify species data, dosing instructions, and compatibility against manufacturer guidelines and reputable expert sources before acting. Treat every automated suggestion as a starting point, not a definitive answer.
Dosing & water chemistry safety
Dose suggestions and "top-up" calculations are estimates derived from your history and general reef-keeping principles — they are not guarantees. Water chemistry is highly system-specific. Always follow the additive manufacturer's instructions, start with a lower dose and increase gradually, test parameters regularly, and never exceed manufacturer-recommended doses. Sudden or excessive dosing can cause dangerous parameter swings and harm or kill livestock. Halocline is not responsible for dosing errors, parameter crashes, or any resulting loss.
Salt mix & target levels
Salt-mix target levels are extracted from manufacturer data and may vary by batch, salinity, or formulation. They are reference values, not a substitute for your own calibrated test kit. Confirm every target with your own testing before making system-wide adjustments.

User responsibility
You are solely responsible for the decisions you make about your aquarium, for verifying all information provided by the app, and for the accuracy of the data you enter. Halocline assists your judgement — it does not replace it.
